Friends--
Please see this message from our neighbor, Dickelle Fonda, regarding
a meeting to discuss the AT&T VRADs and how we can work with state
and local officials to get neighborhood input before decisions are
made on our behalf. The more people that show up the more of a
message it sends to our legislators that communities should be
engaged about policies that affect us.

Subject: AT$T boxes on parkway- meeting reminder
REMINDER THURS AT 7PM TALK TO YOUR LEGISLATORS
Please consider joining us at this meeting- this is about more than
ugly boxes- it is about state government , under pressure from
telecom lobbyists making decisions in favor of corporate interests
and profits ; preempting the authority of municipalities and the
voice of citizens; it is also about a corporation which opposes net
neutrality, and who conducted wireless surveilance on citizens for
the current administration- and then was granted retroactive immunity
by Congress to protect them from civil litigation.
Please join us to discuss this with your state legislators.!!!!!

Compliments of AT&T
and the Illinois Legislature
They are called VRADS (video ready access devices)
and they are appearing on 99 public parkways, alleys
and easements throughout Evanston, the state of
Illinois and 22 states around the country. A franchise bill
allowing this was passed unanimously by our State
legislature; it over rules the power of citizens and their city
government in
favor of corporate competition and profits.
