Sorry folks- and i say this as a lover of dogs- but something is
seriously wrong here when police will shoot and kill a man eleven times for
wielding a gun in a threatening way but when confronted with a pit bull in the
throws of an attack on a dog and its humans they just "draw their guns" and
the dog leaves with one of it's owners?????? Is anyone else outraged by
this entire scenario? WHy is this dog still free? The police work for
us - please insist to them directly that they do their jobs protecting the
public. Call the shift supervisor - Baumgarten at 866-5000

Office Kevin Anderson said the police have no authority over impounding a
dog. Don Wilson, our Alderman, however is on the case and trying to make
something happen today.
The officer thinks the dog was an American Pit Bull---It was big and brown,
with a huge head--probably about 90 lbs and once it grabbed onto our dog's
face, it was like it's jaw locked and it would not let go. David finally
kicked it in the throat/jaw and it let go of Delli but continued growling
and lunging at us, as well as the police when they came with guns drawn!
The 2 owners were on top of it and could barely restrain. One at least was
drunk and belligerent and later apparently, arrested.
All this because we went out for a peaceful night time dog
walk.............! oh, well.
