Public Input Sought on CTA Purple Line
EVANSTON, IL - The City of Evanston and the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) invite residents to a CTA Open House on Thurs., Dec. 3 at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Center, 1655 Foster St., from 6-8:30 p.m.
The Chicago Transit Authority is undertaking a study of the Red Line North and Purple Line – from the Addison Red Line station to Linden on the Purple Line – that will provide guidance for doing major rehabilitation work in the future, pending funding availability. As part of this Vision Study, the public is invited to provide input and feedback regarding these stations at a series of Open Houses.
There will be no formal presentation. Guided tours of the open house exhibits will be provided and staff will be available to answer questions. The open houses are designed to gather public input on existing conditions and issues facing the Red Line North and Purple Line. The open houses also will provide information on the Vision Study process and long-term timeline.
Evanston residents are highly encouraged to attend to learn about the study and provide their input about the Evanston segment of the Purple Line. The City of Evanston has seven CTA Purple Line stops: South Blvd., Main, Dempster, Davis, Foster, Noyes, and Central.
