To our neighbors on the area list  serves: 
 the administrators of our community list serves have  determined that 
announcing opportunities to meet and learn about candidates  running for local 
or statewide office is an appropriate use of our  listserves-    It is not an 
endorsement of any particular  candidate, but rather a notice of a chance 
for all of us to meet, learn more  about candidates and share our concerns 
with them as they run for an office that  represents US- the people!    So in 
that spirit I invite you to  attend the following reception for one of the 
five interesting candidates for  State Rep in the 18th District----a race 
that includes many interesting and  progressive candidates.;   This is one and 
i hope you will consider  coming to this casual gathering to let her know 
what you want in a State  Representative-   this is your chance to weigh  in!!!

Join  us for a spirited conversation with Robyn Gabel, a longtime Evanston  
resident and the endorsed candidate of Congresswoman Jan  Schakowsky. Robyn 
has been the Executive Director of the Illinois  Maternal and Child Health 
Coalition for over twenty years, advocating for  better health care access 
for Illinois Children and Families. She helped  author the All Kids program 
and has successfully fought to obtain health care  access for 1.4 million 
Illinois children and family  members.
