This invitation is from a local MoveOn member who is organizing an important health care event to show Rep. Janice Schakowsky that her constituents want Congress to stop stalling and finish the job on health care reform.  


Dear MoveOn member, 
Melanie Shouse, a MoveOn Council leader in St. Louis and tireless advocate for health care reform, recently passed away after a four year battle with breast cancer—while still in the midst of a fight with her insurance company to cover her chemotherapy treatments.
We cannot keep going like this. Nearly 45,000 Americans die each year because they lack adequate health care. Reforming our broken system is nothing short of a national emergency—and it needs to happen now. 

So I'm working with the local MoveOn Council to organize an event tomorrow in Skokie. We'll stand up and make sure Congress knows that voters want them to stop stalling and pass comprehensive health care reform now.  

The event is on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010, at 3:30 PM in Skokie. The location of our event is: Near Old Orchard. 
Here's the event description: 

Join the Evanston Council for a honk and wave rally while our congresspeople are home on the President's Day recess. Let's show them that we're not ready to give up on health care reform yet!
We'll meet at the corner of Golf Road and Skokie Blvd. Bring signs and warm clothes!
