[Dewey-Darrow] passing of Charles Vernon-founder of Dewey Darrow group passes

To our neighbors;
   One of the founding members of the Dewey-Darrow Neighborhood  
Association (originally called the Block Club) passed away on New Years  Day.  Mr and 
Mrs Vernon have been married for 59 years and reside at 1140  Darrow Ave.    
This group began in the early 1970's-  and is  now one of the oldest and 
longstanding neighborhood groups in the  city.   Our thanks to the Vernons for 
their vision and dedication to  this neighborhood through these years.
  On behalf of the Dewey-Darrow Neighborhood Association we will send  
formal condolences to the family.
Cards can be sent to Mrs Vernon at here home address.
   
Information on wake and funeral:
-Friday  from 3-8 is Visitation at Thompson Funeral Home 1917  Asbury
Saturday -  funeral at First United Methodist Church 516 Church  St  10am 
visitation and 11am service
