Going Green Through Smart Energy Design - Free Breakfast Presentation for Local Businesses
Citizens for a Greener Evanston Energy Efficiency in Commercial Buildings Task Force, the Evanston Chamber of Commerce and the City of Evanston will be presenting a special free breakfast presentation for local business owners, building owners and building managers featuring Ben Sliwinski, Technical Director of the Smart Energy Design Assistance Center (SEDAC). The free breakfast will be held on January 21 from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Lorraine H. Morton Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Ave.
Going green through smart energy design means saving money. There are many ways for Evanston businesses to get smarter about their energy usage, lower their operating costs and take advantage of available cash incentives. Now you can get free advice and financial assistance for your energy efficiency projects. This is a great opportunity to hear from a leading authority on the subject of smart energy design in Illinois.
SEDAC provides advice and analyses enabling private and public facilities to increase their economic viability through the efficient use of energy resources and is sponsored by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity in partnership with ComEd and Ameren Illinois Utilities. SEDAC provides valuable services at no cost to for-profit businesses and public facilities.
Additionally, the City of Evanston is also a participant in ComEd’s Community Energy Challenge in which ComEd has reserved $350,000 of their "Smart Ideas for Your Business" program dollars for Evanston-based businesses and institutions to use. This program is designed to help Evanston’s commercial property owners and tenants pay for energy efficiency upgrades to their properties and operations.
In these economically challenging times, the City of Evanston wants to help businesses save and encourages business owners, building owners and building managers to register to attend this breakfast and learn how to Get Green, Go Green and Save Green.
