[Dewey-Darrow] Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Event

Dear  Evanston Friends and Neighbors, 
I am  writing to let you all know about an event taking place in Evanston 
on  Martin Luther King, Jr. Day - Monday January 18th.  I have attached the  
flyer and hope you can join in on the 'MLK Evanston Community Peace Pledge  
Day' - to honor, celebrate and perpetuate Dr. King's dream of  building a 
beloved community.

11:00 / Community Coffee  (First United Methodist Church - gathering to 
assemble for the Peace  March)
11:30 /  Peace March (march from First United Methodist Church to Second 
Baptist  Church) 
12:00 /  Convocation (Second Baptist  Church)



keynote speaker: Dr.Drew Smith-  Director of Church and Black Experience 
program at Garrett  Seminary

 



The  convocation will conclude with all of those in attendance making a 
personal  pledge of peace through service back to our Evanston community.  I 
hope you can make it and feel free to please pass along to  anyone else you 
think may want to know about it!
